Sherborne Folk Band

Each session, Laurel will teach two new tunes and will lead exercises that help you improve your musicianship,

explore how to create harmonies, arrangements, variations

and develop your individual style as a folk musician. More than anything, we'll have a great time playing music together.  


All levels and all instruments are welcome. Laurel is an inspiring and experienced workshop leader  who will help you build confidence to learn and play by ear.  Notation and audio supplied for catch up between sessions.


Sherborne Folk Band is 1:30pm - 4:30pm  at:

Digby Memorial Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne, Dorset DT9 3NL.

There is a large, free car park


Bedroom musicians, beginner musicians, starting-again musicians, young musicians, late bloomers, musicians that think they can only read the dots, musicians who worry that they can’t read the dots, professional muscians from other genres  –  you are all welcome!

This is a new venture for Laurel, organised by Julia who missed the West London Folk Band so much when she moved to Dorset that she has offered to start a new group locally!  We are running a whole season of classes in autumn 2017 and spring 2018
