Friday - Arrival any time from 4pm. Hot meal 8pm followed by introduction to the weekend.
Saturday - An (optional) coastal walk, a day packed with workshops, small group exercises, and individual work. Debs and Laurel lead some together, and for others you can choose to focus on storytelling with Debs or songwriting with Laurel. Plus free time to reflect and relax.
Saturday Night - As evening draws in there will be dinner, laughter, perhaps a game of cards, maybe a drink or two, definitely some stories and songs.
Sunday - Join us on a stunning walk and then our final two workshops. We finish with a round up of everything.
We leave after lunch. If you’re in no rush to get home, there are plenty more beautiful walks, and pretty villages and coastline to explore.
This purpose-built, single storey, cedar timber clad building is minutes from Lulworth Cove. It's on the edge of the tranquil, fishing village, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Surrounded by the Dorset hills. Lulworth Cove is a Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.
All meals from Friday dinner through to Sunday lunch are provided, plus hot drinks anytime.

We will be cooking as a group, which is an important part of the retreat experience! Everyone will participate in preparing or washing up one meal.
Food will be simple, tasty, plentiful, and nourishing.
Walks and freetime are structured into the weekend. You are welcome to skip a class and take a wander / read a book if you want to.

Debs Newbold and Laurel Swift, invite you to a wonderfully creative weekend in the beautiful landscape of Dorset's Jurassic coast. Experienced workshop leaders and performers, Debs and Laurel are the creators of Under Her Skin, a contemporary retelling of the Selkie myth.
Join them for a relaxing and inspiring weekend of workshops, walks, creativity, songs and stories. Focus on stories, songs, or both! Bring instruments, pens & pads, and your heart! Through workshops, small group exercises, and individual work, this weekend will deepen your relationship with the performed word. All levels of experience welcome.
The narrative arc - Connecting the voice with the word - Performance and delivery - Verbal Improvisation - Intro to chords and chord theory - Melodic structure - Effective accompaniment.
No-one will need to share bunks, however if you prefer, there are a good selection of B&Bs and hotels locally.
Dormitory accomodation is bunk-beds, in single-sex rooms. 34 beds arranged in 2x6, 2x5 and 3x4 bed rooms. All bed linen is provided.
